Embarrassing Moments on the Job
Over the years I've had some truly mortifying experiences and though I usually keep these incidents to myself, I now share with you, my friends, some of my most embarrassing on-the-job moments-
1)The time my thigh-high stockings started falling down to my ankles as I was walking through a fancy hotel lobby. Victoria's Secret may charge $19.50 a pair, but they ain't worth shit. To this day, I never wear thigh-highs or any type of stockings anywhere.
2) The time I let some guy with a dick piercing fuck me. Of course, he fucked hard, like a 16-year old, and tore up my insides. Later that week, while fucking some other client, I bled heavily all over his sheets and had to nervously explain to him that, no, I didn't have my period, but was bleeding due to some hipster with a dumb-ass dick ring who unknowingly caused internal damage. It took me almost a month to heal from the wound and I had to wear tampons to buffer the bleeding at times. I don't care how fucking "punk" or "alt" you are, I cannot understand why anybody would let a guy with a dick piercing fuck them. Nor can I understand why anybody would have their dick pierced in the first place.
3) The time some asshole from my college hired me and then rudely rushed me out of his apartment after I wouldn't accept his $20 for a blowjob. I ran into him a few times in the hallways at school and once again more recently. You can read about what happened here.
4)On one of the first escort calls I ever did, I stupidly forgot to collect the money up front. He was a young guy, with a cute dog I remember playing with. After we were done, he put on his coat and said he'd walk with me to an ATM where he'd get my money. At the crosswalk, he darted the other way as I kept walking across the street and ran back up his alley to the backdoor of his apartment. Realizing there was not much I could do by myself and not wanting to get in a confrontation, I called the agency I worked for and they later sent a couple of thugs to collect the money from him. Of course, I always collected in advance after that.
Lastly, this gem that happened to me just a few nights ago...
A client with a smoking fetish that I'd seen several years back and actually know and am friendly with in day-to-day life called and wanted to do a half hour session. He enjoys having cigarettes put out on his feet and using his hands as an ashtray while he masturbates. It's a fairly easy session and requires no nudity or touching on the woman's part, but it does involve smoking several cigarettes right after another. I'm a smoker, but surely not a chain smoker so by the third cigarette I was feeling a little light headed. Not sure if I should go to the bathroom or lay down, I asked him if I could lay down for a moment so I could come to. As soon as I laid my body down, I vomited nearly all the tomato bisque and peach salsa I'd eater just an hour before on his sofa, floor, and my purse. The good news was that throwing up did the trick...I felt better. The bad news was that this was truly one of the most mortifying experiences I've had on the job. The client is the NICEST guy you could ever meet and I was catching up with him on old times for what seemed like an hour. A few days later, I sent him a text message offering him a freebie session next time, but one can only imagine that the sight of me vomiting all over his floor is probably a major turnoff.
C'est La Vie.

Sex Worker Weekend
Whew...a busy weekend events commemorating the 5th Annual International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers and I've made it out alive and without being incarcerated! Yay!
Last night was SLEAZE, a part for the whores and hoes of Chicago and a celebration of 60's style, a la the movies of Russ Meyer. Of course I dressed up as my favorite Russ Meyer vixen, Varla, from "Faster Pussycat Kill!Kill!", complete with fake balloon boobs and a false eyelashes. I had her outfit down almost to a t...I even impressed myself. Despite all my SWOP sister's promises, I was the only one to don the fake tittes, prompting a few drunk men to look down my shirt and wonder if they were real. One guy even asked if I was male or female, to which I replied "neither". Hey, gotta keep 'em guessing.
The party was a great success for us despite the horrible blizzard that was happening outside. One woman even came in gold body paint (a la "Goldfinger") and a bikini, wearing only a long fur coat over her outfit in the freezing temperatures. Whores never cease to amaze me!
This afternoon we had a sex worker vigil and march outside the Addison/Halsted police station. Despite the butt-ass freezing temp, we had a pretty good turn out of kinky whores and allies spreading the word. Most of the passer-bys were receptive of our message and even the cops that walked by took our fliers and listened to what we had to say. I videotaped the rally for SWOP and hopefully will post a link to some of the highlights as soon as I can get to it.
After the vigil, we walked up Halsted street rolling a coffin with names of sex workers affected by violence. Though it was a little too cold for us to remain outside for long, the rally went well and we had a lot of positive feedback from a lot of the people we approached.
Most of us in Chicago agree that although this day is important in remembering the sex work victims of violence on the job, it might be better suited for a day in say, June or July, when the weather isn't so damn cold!
Then again, it originated in San Francisco, so what do they know about freezing temps and three feet of snow on the ground?

Sex Worker Socials
Tonight was a bittersweet night for many of us sex workers here in town. Mistress Minax, who had been hosting monthly sex worker socials at her lovely home in Chicago, has decided to end her run and we had our last party/social, complete with grab bag gift giveaway. it was so wonderful and I will miss these events that i have been going to for over a year.
The sex industry can be a lonely place. Oftentimes you have to keep your work a secret from most of your family and friends and have very few people to talk to about life on the job. Early on when I started escorting I had almost nobody to talk to except for other girls I would meet working for agencies on two- girl calls or the women who answered the phones for the agencies I worked for. I was invited to these socials in 2006 by my friend Jack from Libido Films and I immediately became a regualr. I enjoyed meeting different people from various areas of the sex industry and sharing ideas, opinions, or just talking. The socials made me be proud to be a sex worker and socialize with such interesting people. Each month I would try to bring a new friend along to the socials, hoping they would enjoy the experience as much as I had.
Sadly, Minax's schedules have gotten too hectic as of late, so she no longer has time to host people in her house each month. A few of us regulars have promised to keep them going at our own residences, but I suspect it won't be the same. I'll miss talking and drinking wine with all the kinky folks each month, but I'm grateful that these socials existed in the first place. It's a shame that every city doesn't have them.
So if you are a sex worker and know of others in your town, do it grassroots style and start having monthly get togethers. You'll be amazed at the people you meet and eventually, they'll become your family.

Sweet, Sexy College Co-Ed for Hire
"Are you a college student?" asks the college student. Even though I am no longer a college student, I tell clients I am because, well, it sounds better. And it makes me sound younger, but not younger that this guy, who must be around 22 or 23 and acts it. Most of all it makes it sound like I actually have a financial need for my sex work, as if paying rent and bills wasn't enough.
"Are you in grad school?" he follows up, because I surely don't look or dress like an undergrad. Let's face it, I hate college students. I hated them when I was in school just a year or so back and I hate them now. I don't really want to resemble one or even act like one, or for that matter, hang out with them. Yes, I do have friends that are still in college and are very nice, but really, college students are irritating.
So why go out of the way to pretend that I'm one. Not only are clients obsessed with youth, they want to believe the money they're paying you is going to a good cause, like the furtherance of one's education and not someone drug habit or pimp-daddy boyfriend.
Sex work (mainly escorting) is actually a perfect job for college student. No need for a regular schedule to compete with study time...just work when you need to. Since you only work minimal hours, mostly at night, you have plenty of time for school and study during the day. Most college student are cute, young, and somewhat naive, but can carry on a conversation, just what clients want.
So I've decided to go to grad school...except I'm not enrolled yet. Nobody needs to know that, though. :P

International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers
One week from today, on December 17, will be the 5th Anniversary of the International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers. I will be celebrating this event all weekend with my sex worker sisters here in Chicago and I encourage other sex workers (and allies), no matter where you are, to find a way to recognize this day next Monday. "Celebrate" may seem like a cheery word to commemorate such a tragedy, but we are celebrating the fact that we are here, alive and well, and have each other for support when so many sex workers around the globe have nobody. Think of it as the "Christmas for whores" and get together with your surrogate family (if you have one) of sex -positive friends. Enjoy the fact that you are alive and free, as so many other sex workers that took the same chance you did are not.
Here's some more information about this day courtesy of my friend KittenInfinite-
This December 17th marks the 5th Annual International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers. This event was created to call attention to hate crimes committed against sex workers all over the globe. Originally thought of by Dr. Annie Sprinkle and started by the Sex Workers Outreach Project USA as a memorial and vigil for the victims of the Green River Killer in Seattle Washington, International Day to End Violence Against Sex Workers has empowered workers from over 100 cities around the world to come together and organize against discrimination and remember victims of violence. During the week of December 17th, sex worker rights organizations will be staging actions and vigils to raise awareness about violence that is commonly committed against sex workers. The assault, battery, rape and murder of sex workers must end. In the past year, a police officer out of Orange County went to trial accused of stalking a stripper as she was leaving the club after work, and extorting sexual acts from her. Internal Affairs concluded that this officer had been stalking strippers and suspended the officers badge. In the criminal trial this year, a jury of 11 white men and a woman found the officer "NOT GUILTY" of three felony charges that he'd used his badge to win sexual favors during the traffic stop. The Defense? They accused her of purposefully "weakening" Park so that he became "a man," not a cop during the traffic stop. "She got what she wanted," said the defense. "She's an overtly sexual person." For the full article: http://www.ocweekly.com/news/news/illegally-park-ed/26661/ Last October, a sex worker who arrange a date via craigslist wound up being raped at gunpoint by five men who had lured her to an abandoned building. When criminal charges against the defendant and head of this gang rape was brought before a Philadelphia judge, the judge dismissed the rape charges, instead dropping them to "theft of services". The contention is that a prostitute cannot be raped, only "robbed" of sex. The judge said that to pursue a rape charge in the case "minimizes true rape cases and demeans women who are really raped." The defendant was charged in an identical incident involving a 23-year-old woman four days later, and the Assistant District Attorney didn't pursue charges.
The Green River Killer said: "The plan was, I wanted to kill as many women I thought were prostitutes as I possibly could. I picked prostitutes as victims because they were easy to pick up without being noticed. I picked prostitutes because I thought I could kill as many of them as I wanted without getting caught."
I will have more information about the events we are planning this weekend in Chicago, but please investigate any actions or vigils that may be going on near you. Sex workers...we must get involved and show support for one another in order to gain strength and fight the evils that want to harm us.

Slow Season
While the rest of the world is having they're busy season right around now, what with everyone planning for the holidays, things have slowed down for me here. I've had only one client this week and have been desperate to finish getting my bills paid before I do any more holiday shopping. The film I'm working on finished up principal shooting next week and it looks like projects will be few and far between until possibly Febuary.
So while money's tight, what do and I go out and do? Shop, of course. It's not that I'm a compulsive spend-a-holic, but my friend wanted to get a new outfit for a party that's happened a week from today, so we needed outfits. (The theme-Sleaze!) After a few stops at thrift stores, we were unsatisfied so I took her to Discovery, an ultra-trendy cheapo urban-girl clothing store. Let's just say everything in Discovery is under $25 (or even $20), comes in sizes S-M-L, and is shoddily made, but very NOW. It was her first time in a Discovery store and she was blown away. We stood around with armfuls of clothes and tried to make decisions on what to get, but just couldn't decide (the store has no dressing rooms so you have to choose wisely or you can bring the clothes back to be returned.) Finally we forced our way to the register where I bought two tops and made the decision to return the one I didn't like. Of course this was stupid of me because I spent way too much money, but hey, I've got at least part of my party outfit ready.
Now I just need the wig. A Varla wig, just like Tura Satana in the photo to the right. Then I'll be set.

An Introduction
Some of you may already know me as Libby or "The Libertine" and this site had a different format that hadn't been updated for some time. I've finally gotten my lazy ass together and turned this into a real blog, with regular updates and all. After all, I've got a lot going on in my life now so I thought I'd share it all with you.
But first, let me re-introduce myself...
I've somewhat of a veteran sex worker at this point, having worked in the sex industry for almost ten years now. I started out in my early twenties as a professional dominatrix, later worked as an escort and madam, and have now been dabbling in the porn industry shooting, directing, and casting porn, as well as working as a crew member on other people's porn. I also freelance in the film industry. I'm an active member of Sex Worker's Outreach Project (SWOP)-Chicago and the Desiree Alliance. So for me, sex work isn't just something I dabble in to supplement my income...it's a lifestyle choice.
For several year, working in the sex industry was a lonely life and I rarely had allies that I could be open with about what i did. These days, things have changed and I have a fairly large network of sisters that work in the industry and are active in changing the way sex workers are perceived by the public. I'm hoping this blog can contribute a little bit more to that goal.
I am not Pretty Woman. I am not a drug addict. I do not have a pimp or any man that tells me what to do. I am not working in the sex industry because I have no choice. I do it because I love it.
But first, let me re-introduce myself...
